William's forty years experience in business, international humanitarian projects and political lobbying have prepared him for The Other Iraq campaign. He has a Political Science degree from UCLA (1967) and experience in political lobbying and campaign management during the late 1960’s, 70’s and early 80’s.
Recruited by Douglas Layton, Director, Kurdistan Development Corporation (KDC), after the first Gulf War, William successfully secured hearings in the U.S. Senate exposing Saddam’s genocide against the Kurds. William has been working with Kurdistan since then, employing journalism skills that earned him a full university scholarship and later the editor-in-chief position at the News of Gwinnett a newspaper in Atlanta.
William is former Chairman of Servant Group International (SGI), an organization founded by Douglas Layton providing education, health care, schools, homes and hope to Kurds in Iraq, Turkey, Germany and the U.S.
For may years, William was a general contractor for twenty years in Silicon Valley, involved in residential construction, high-tech tenant improvement work and land development. His client list included Stanford University, University of Santa Clara, Apple Computer, National Semiconductor, Amdahl Corporation, Fairchild, Sega of America, City of Palo Alto, and many others. Additionally William spent six years in Nigeria working with humanitarian agencies and mission programs.
William has founded and still chairs a number of organizations that serve the needs of women and children in both the Silicon Valley and Santa Cruz area where he now lives.
